Ever since android was launched back in 2007, the app development always faced an issue. The issue being that the apps ran much smoother and faster on iOS platform than Android, and we are talking about the same apps built by the same development team. One of the reason could be that not all of android apps are truly “native”, they rely on Dalvik virtual machine to run, so there are tons of bridges and links which eventually takes you to the game. Even powerful devices, like Nexus 7 which boasts a Quad core Tegra 3 processor and 1GB of RAM face this issue.

Google chrome extension library is expanding day by day, and it is a good thing as well considering there is an Operating System based on just Google Chrome i.e. Chrome OS. There are few applications that are absolutely necessary/recommended, like Adblock, but it’s not that easy to find an extension that would eventually prove to be useful. We have grown to like the chrome app store and the versatility of application’s it provides and such an extension has caught our eyes. Image dictionary lets you search related image from the selected text with just a right click, it will pop up the related image in the same tab saving you a lot of time.

QR codes are very useful and can save a lot of time provided you use them correctly. QR codes are as common as “Tinyurl” links, perhaps they are even better than that. QR codes very originally design for the Smartphone users so that they wont have to type the whole web address and they could just scan the code and be on their way. There are many applications that will let you create QR codes, but all of them will re direct to one URL, there is a Google Chrome extension which is rather clever. Smart QrCode Generator is a small extension which can be downloaded right into the browser, it can assist you in generating QR code out of pretty much everything.

Plug-ins really do have an impact on a browser’s reputation and popularity, look at Firefox and where it has got itself in midst of all this competition. Google seems to be finally moving steadily, and with it’s continuous growth, it is the best browser you can have on any operating system. Google has stocked up a lot of Plug-ins in it’s web store, many are rather useful like Adblock which will save you from spam and annoying ads, there is Evernote, the fabulous task manager and then there is the new Plug-in from Google itself which allows you to save pictures, audio files and videos directly to your Google drive. The Plug-in is called Save To Google Drive which is a much needed ad on for chrome browser, having said that, you had other options before such  as Save to drive which would do pretty much the same thing but an official plug-in speaks volume.

The main selling factor and the main reason why most of the people go for android is the customization options. Although other operating systems such as iOS and Windows Phone do provide these options, but in fairness they are not as flexible as android’s customization options. If you have an android device then you got off to a good start, now comes the difficult part, source if inspiration. Most of us would love to keep the devices as minimal and as simple as we could, but in a few days you will eventually get bored of the interface and want to spice things up. Recently, while going through a few websites i came across a website and i was stunned to find out how much work people have put into android interface customization and all you need to do it is a few cheap apps, ability to read and patience.

One of the feature that sets apart the Good old Android Gingerbread interface and the new ICS on-wards interface is the App switching and multitasking option. On the older version, you had to long press the home button and a rather ‘old styled’ menu would appear in front of you giving you option to select the icon to navigate to that app. That was perfectly fine, but what if you want more control? What if you want an interface that doesn't look like it was ripped off from some 90’s Symbian interface? Well, there is an App that could do that for you. SwitchApps, is a wonderful little application that could bring the same App switch feeling to the older android versions, the application feels rather refined and very easy to use and if you don’t like using the multitasking option in ICS and above operating systems then SwitchApps is the perfect alternative for you.

Have you ever begun to edit a picture and wondered what the original picture looked like? Or how far off are you’re from the actual picture? Well, at that time you have several options, press the multi-tasking window open gallery and view the picture, or press the back button and view the picture, but both these methods risk losing the edited one. To be honest, if you favorite picture editor does not provide you with this basic option to view the original one, it is just not worth it. Strangely enough, the picture editor that has this feature is Google’s very own, and you don’t even have to download it because it is built into the gallery app. The one we tested out was on android jellybean 4.2, and quite honestly, it out performs the other famous 3rd party apps.

Now that we have moved up in the world in regards to technology, all we should be thinking about optimization and productivity. Computers and internet services evolved, and now, they are integral part of our daily lives. But, as much as innovations are important, understanding the true potential of it is the key part. Now, all of us must be aware of Google chrome right? But the question I ask valued readers today that if they use it the way it should be. It is Google’s ambition to remove the need of having several gadgets around to fulfill the productivity needs, for that, they have to date done thousands of modifications and advancement to its browser i.e. Google Chrome.

Google has updated their class-based object-orientated language “Dart” after one full year. The dart team has launched the first stable version of Dart Software Development Kit (SD). According to the developers the SDK has faster virtual machine and can outperform Google’s V8 JavaScript engine. Dart compiles to JavaScript and thus can be used in all modern browsers and certainly it has the potential but then again it is far too young to evaluate its true potential.

As we all now jellybean started rolling out for the Nexus branded devices and the Galaxy Nexus was the first one to get it after the Nexus 7. Sadly; while most of the users in USA and Europe are enjoying the excellent experience of jellybean- users in Asia, Africa and other parts of the world are still waiting on it. We have devised a method that will force the Jellybean over the air (OTA) update on your phone without rooting or hacking but it will require you to flash a stock ROM via installer. What you are doing is that updating your phone to the version which received the OTA update already. This method works only if your device runs the yakju/takju of the Galaxy Nexus ROM. We are going to convert yakjuxw/jp versions to the mentioned above.

Disclaimer: This might void your warranty.
Note: It will erase everything from your phone, so make sure you have everything backed up.
We are not responsible for any bricked/broken devices, do it at your own risk

Last year, Siri created a lot of fuzz in the world of technology with the release of iPhone 4s. The concept was unique and the functionality it provided was like no other. Since then many applications were made and released to give Siri competition, they did not trouble Siri at all until Google released their voice assistant with Jellybean OS. Now it seems there is a new competitor.

The next version of Google’s OS for mobile devices, Android version 3.0 codenamed “Handroid_3.0_honeycomboney comb” is not expected to be released in a tablet until later this year but Google , first accidently, uploaded a teaser video of the awesomeness of Android 3.0 on YouTube and quickly pulled it off but that small duration was enough for some to record the video. Google has now officially released the video and a small description of it’s Android 3.0 on it’s blog.
