Microsoft is finally seeing the light as possibilities for opening doors to homebrew micro-developers have been spearheaded by Brandon Watson, Director of Developer Experience for Windows Phone 7 who has taken the soft approach of dealing with hackers as if they are merely a Windows hosting reseller. By inviting the likes of George “Geohot” Hotz, Rafael Rivera, Chris Walsh and Long Zheng for an alliance, the said executive has been dubbed as Microsoft's tech evangelist. So why is that such a big deal?
If this is going to be the UI of the next iPhone (5?) then it definitely is something that resembles a lot to Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 UI. Not that it’s bad to get inspiration from a great UI design but just that to file a patent in your name claiming it to be your own design is something that is not so peculiar to Apple but yet this latest patent filed by Apple detailing a new UI design for it’s next generation of iDevices (iPhone, iPod touch and iPad) is a testament that WP7’s UI is awesome!
Dell Lightning is going to be the first Windows Phone 7 release from Dell and it sure is different from the WP7 prototypes we have seen recently. The phone is a portrait slider which means it has a lot of buttons but that’s not always so bad. What’s delightfully amazing are the specs Dell Lightning comes laden with. Right now it’s just on the slides and is expected to be released by the end of this year to coincide with WP7 official release.
Just today we showed you how to transform your Windows 7/Vista or XP desktop into a Windows Phone 7 UI and now there’s another interesting development. Woocash-kun has created a Windows Phone 7 theme for his iPhone which can also be put on iPod touch. He has not yet released it and says that “he will only release it when he changes to another theme” but has put up some pictures and a video showing the awesomeness of the entirely new UI design of Windows Phone 7.
How about a little change? Since Windows Phone 7 is not available on any real phone at the moment (except for a video showing HTC HD2 running Windows Phone 7 OS) how about transforming your Desktop (Windows XP, Vista, 7 supported) into Windows Phone 7 UI (User Interface)?
Microsoft said Windows Phone 7 won’t be coming to HTC HD2 since it does not fulfill the requirements but who can bind software to any particular device nowadays? It was just a matter of time and it seems it took lesser time then expected and now we have Windows Phone 7 OS running on HTC HD2!

Well, Ballmer may not like it as was the case when a Microsoft employee last year tried taking Ballmer’s photos at a conference where he snatched the iPhone, threw it on the ground and pretended jumping on it. These scenes seem to be common at Redmond. So Mr. Ballmer, when you cannot even convince your own employees to adopt Windows Phone then how will you court millions out there?
Guys at Engadget got an opportunity to see some of the games running on ASUS Windows Phone 7 prototype and built with XNA Game Studio 4.0. Microsoft didn’t let them take any photo or video. Although Microsoft gave them some of the screenshots of the 2 upcoming Windows Phone 7 Series Games.

It’s confirmed now. Charlie Kindel of Microsoft has confirmed that Windows Phone 7 has experienced a paradigm shift in terms of how developers deliver User Experience in their Windows Phone 7 apps and this is the reason we have to let go the old Windows Mobile apps since they belong to an old era.
When Windows Phone 7 was announced, there was a sound for the chance of possibility that the HTC HD2 will be one of the Windows mobile device that will get the Windows Phone 7 update. 2 days ago, Neowin reported that WinMo 6.5.X phones are not compatible for Windows Phone 7 Series. Natasha Kwan, the General Manager for Microsoft's Mobile Communications Business in the Asia-Pacific region, said:
“the powerful HD2 "doesn't qualify because it doesn't have the three buttons."
It is now officially confirmed by Microsoft that HTC HD2 will not get the Windows Phone 7 update.
