Digitimes has reported that Apple has placed orders for CDMA iPhone (for Verizon Wireless) and production would reach up to 10 million each year. Pegatron, which was part of Asustek computer, has received the order and has declined to comment and so has Apple but it has given life to the already popular rumors about Verizon iPhone since Verizon Wireless has CDMA network unlike AT&T.

The report further points out that production would start as soon as this August/September which means we might see iPhone coming to VZW as soon as this year’s end.

Currently Apple’s major supplier for iPhone is Foxconn but it seems that Apple might hesitate to further the production contract with Foxconn considering that three next generation iPhone HD/4G have been leaked in a month’s time and that too just few days before June 7 when Steve Jobs is expected to unveil the new iPhone at WWDC.
