IIS (Internet Information Services) is probably the first tool, developers will want to install on Windows Operating systems because of its nifty utilities and usage in the development process. Many people are finding it difficult to install the IIS on Windows 8, the newly launched OS by Microsoft. The difficulties are because of the fact that IIS is not Pre-loaded installed in the OS. In this post we’ll tell you how you can easily install IIS in Windows 8.

Press the Windows + R key combination to Open the Run Box. Then type appwiz.cpl and press Enter.

Now you will see the Program and Features part of Control Panel. You must click the “Turn Windows features on or off” option on the left side blue bar.Now click on the Internet Information Services check box just like in the image below. You can also click the + sign to choose many custom components we need during the development process. You will see a list of different additional services. Just select the service you want and click “Ok”

After the installation process completes. Just close all the Windows and you are done!. You can test it by opening local host from the browser.
