Apple is pushed out the new Beta 4 recently and it brings us closer to the final build that we will hopefully see on the new iPhone 5. The DEV community is at the iOS 6 case again and the jailbreak is out. Follow the step by step guide in order to Jailbreak your DEV version of iOS 6.

Keep in mind that this is a tethered jailbreak, what it means is that if you shut down your phone you will have to “boot-tethered” from redsn0w to get your device running again. Apart from that, there are several things to keep in mind before:
• Supports A4 devices only.
• No Cydia will be installed.
• No hacktivation.
• Essentially for programmers or testers who want to “bug fix” their devices.

Steps:

  1. Download the latest version redsn0w to jailbreak your device [Windows|Mac].
  2. Uncompress the downloaded redsn0w
  3. Download the latest release of iOS6 Beta (from iOS DEV center)
  4. Run the executable redsn0w, when it initializes select “Extras” and choose the ISPW you downloaded.
  5. Now back on main interface, select the “jailbreak” option
  6. Redsn0w will guide you to put your device in DFU mode

The rest is done by redsn0w, it is a good practice to back up your contacts, pictures and other files before you perform jailbreak so do remember to do that if your data is important for you. Again, Cydia won’t be installed on the device and you can access the repositories via SSH.
