So, have you tried the latest OS by Android? Android 4.1 aka Jellybean OS is the latest in queue after their successful Ice Cream Sandwich OS which brought major changes from the Gingerbread OS. Continuing the stream of changes, jellybean provides excellent user experience with buttery smooth interface (thanks to butter scotch project) and easier than before navigation.

As we all now jellybean started rolling out for the Nexus branded devices and the Galaxy Nexus was the first one to get it after the Nexus 7. Sadly; while most of the users in USA and Europe are enjoying the excellent experience of jellybean- users in Asia, Africa and other parts of the world are still waiting on it. We have devised a method that will force the Jellybean over the air (OTA) update on your phone without rooting or hacking but it will require you to flash a stock ROM via installer. What you are doing is that updating your phone to the version which received the OTA update already. This method works only if your device runs the yakju/takju of the Galaxy Nexus ROM. We are going to convert yakjuxw/jp versions to the mentioned above.

Disclaimer: This might void your warranty.
Note: It will erase everything from your phone, so make sure you have everything backed up.

Last year, Siri created a lot of fuzz in the world of technology with the release of iPhone 4s. The concept was unique and the functionality it provided was like no other. Since then many applications were made and released to give Siri competition, they did not trouble Siri at all until Google released their voice assistant with Jellybean OS. Now it seems there is a new competitor.

Previously I covered how to get the famous Android Lock screen on your iPod Touch or iPhone. It really looks cool but the problem arises when you forget your lock pattern. There have been hundreds of such cases where you are locked out of your own iPod Touch because you forgot the lock pattern and there’s no simple way of uninstalling or removing the app.

LG seems to be having a lot of firsts in the mobile phone industry this year. They were the first phone manufacturer to announce a dual core smartphone in the form of the Optimus 2X, as well as the first to produce a 3D enabled tablet. LG have also extended this 3D technology to their smartphones with the latest LG Optimus 3D, which will be the first phone to come with 3D technology included.

The last couple of years have seen a resurgence in the popularity of 3D technology, largely due to Hollywood movie studios cracking down on movie piracy by offering something that the pirates cannot replicate. While many have seen the resurrection of 3D glasses at cinemas as little more than a gimmick, there is no denying that with recent technological improvements 3D has become hugely popular again. So much so that it is now migrating to other areas of the technological and entertainment world.

The next version of Google’s OS for mobile devices, Android version 3.0 codenamed “Handroid_3.0_honeycomboney comb” is not expected to be released in a tablet until later this year but Google , first accidently, uploaded a teaser video of the awesomeness of Android 3.0 on YouTube and quickly pulled it off but that small duration was enough for some to record the video. Google has now officially released the video and a small description of it’s Android 3.0 on it’s blog.

Android 2.1 update has been rolled out for Droid Eris and many have already received the OTA update (Over the Air) but it seems like Verizon Wireless is serially sending out the OTA which means many users will have to wait for probably another couple of days if not weeks to get Android 2.1 running on their Eris. Not anymore. You can download and update to Android 2.1 manually.

Even though Verizon Wireless has started rolling out Android 2.1 OTA (Over The Air) updates to Droid Eris phones but still there are many who have not received any. Here’s the procedure to manually update your Droid Eris to a legit copy of Android 2.1 right from Google’s servers (it’s not pre-release or Beta, it’s the one that’s being used in OTA).

This seemed to be far fetched and some even laughed at the very thought of Google Android ever beating iPhone OS in the smart phone market but the reports of smart phone sales in the first quarter of 2010 reveal otherwise: Android based smart phones have outsold iPhone OS based iDevices combined.

Android-running-on-iPhone

This was considered to be something next to impossible but a geek has finally made this unholy marriage a reality by porting Android to his iPhone 2G. It’s running fine except for some lags and he says that it will not be a problem porting this Android image to iPhone 3G and 3Gs but will he be able to port it to iPad? Anyways, he says that the ground work has been done and it will be easy to port “Google’s Android” to any of “iDevice”.

It has not been long since Android phones started getting OTA (Over The Air) updates to Android 2.1 and now Paul O’Brien of Modaco has posted pictures of his HTC Legend and HTC Desire which he has successfully rooted. This will allow him to customize the OS of his phone to whatever taste he wants.
