Previously I covered how to get the famous Android Lock screen on your iPod Touch or iPhone. It really looks cool but the problem arises when you forget your lock pattern. There have been hundreds of such cases where you are locked out of your own iPod Touch because you forgot the lock pattern and there’s no simple way of uninstalling or removing the app.

This is a fresh rumor roundup for the next iPhone, the iPhone 5. Normally I discard rumors especially since everyone’s posting something about the next iPhone but when these rumors come from a source that has proven to be a good intelligence source for iPod Touch then we better listen.

This must be annoying for a lot of people. Watching a video on your iPhone or iPod touch or iPad and all of a sudden the lock screen appears and the video is paused. You will either have to increase the wait time of your lock screen or let it go altogether which is what I did with my iPod touch. But with this new app available on Cydia, you can continue to watch the video even when the lock screen appears.

Apple released Beta 1 of iOS 4.3 SDK for iPod touch and iPad as well as Apple TV late Wednesday night.  There are some exciting additions to the iOS 4.3 like the multi-touch gesture support which will replace the Home button in iPad, new video effects for video recording and the confirmation that CDMA based iPad is also on it's way! Some photos were leaked on the web yesterday of (rumored) the next iPhone 5. It would have been a regular story that went unnoticed except that this time Apple intervened and took those videos detailing the design of the next iPhone from YouTube. This could only mean one thing: The leaked design photos have to be that of actual iPhone!

This app has to be the best app of this year. One word describes it: Stunning. A small design studioword_lens_translate_iphone called QuestVisual that consists of only 2 programmers (apparently) has just released an app called WordLens. So what’s so stunning about it? You can translate anything into multiple languages with your iPhone camera and the translated text is embedded back into the image and you won’t even notice that something has changed, it’s so natural! Just in case, this is what Virtual Reality is all about, embedding artificially generated content into the real images.

Out of a total of 100 million iPhones out there, 10% or 10 million use Cydia as an alternative App Store or where they find more then 30,000 apps (or packages as they’re called) which is approximately 1/3rd of apps listed on Apple’s App Store. Saurik (the developer behind Cydia) calls it the App Store for jailbroken iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. After revolutionizing the mobile app business with App Store for iDevices, Apple announced that it’s going to launch App Store for Mac. Following on, Saurik just announced at the 360|MacDev that he is going to launch Cydia for Mac.

Do you suffer from excess of remote controls spread all over your home? You’re not alone, there are millions who have at least 2-3 remote controls for all the different devices they own (Television, DVD player etc). What if there was only one remote control? And that too not exactly a remote control but a gadget that you always have in your pocket. Yes, with UnityRemote app from Gear4, you can now control your TV and almost all other gadget that this app supports with your iPhone or iPod touch!

If this is going to be the UI of the next iPhone (5?) then it definitely is something that resembles a lot to Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 UI. Not that it’s bad to get inspiration from a great UI design but just that to file a patent in your name claiming it to be your own design is something that is not so peculiar to Apple but yet this latest patent filed by Apple detailing a new UI design for it’s next generation of iDevices (iPhone, iPod touch and iPad) is a testament that WP7’s UI is awesome!

Want to watch Vimeo or maybe Dailmotion and Hulu among a couple of others on your iPhone but when you log on to these websites all you see is a big blank box instead of the video or maybe just a thumbnail and then Apple forces you to believe that Flash is gone, it’s history. Well guess what, someone somewhere came up with this quick hack that lets you watch Flash videos on these and a couple of other websites right inside your Mobile Safari in iPhone (3G/3Gs and 4).

Even if you are not a big fan of gaming on the iPhone/iPod touch or iPad, you are still going to find racing games pretty amusing. Remember the old Motocross on Windows? It has come back to amuse us once more albeit a different form and share: The FMX Riders. It will cost you around $5 but today they’re giving it for free, just today. For those who don’t want to read on and just download, here’s the App Store link for downloading FMX Rider.

With the new iOS 4.2.1 you can now print directly from your iPhone to a select few printers. Evenimage though it comes in very handy when you want to just click a ‘Print’ button and it connects to your Printer and prints. This feature has been limited to a very few printers and there are good chances that the printer you have did not make that list. Does that mean you cannot print directly from your iPhone? With this new App this problem is now solved!
