For the past twenty years, Microsoft and Oracle have worked under volatile working relationships; they have been staunch industry competitors, joint venture partners and foes. The new partnership commonly branded as “cloud partnership” empowers both the parties in the enterprise cloud domains as it is considered as one of the most important and strategic steps taken.

Oracle users will now be able to get the mobile licenses to use the oracle products on Server Hyper-V or in Windows Azure platforms. Oracle will allow the users to run its software in the windows azure cloud based environments. Microsoft will integrate augmented support services and real time interaction for the oracle products running in the windows azure and simple capacities. The partnership targets to smooth the multilevel cross platform application in order to elevate the standards of the cloud industry. The cardinal feature of this partnership is to provide the quality of services from both the ends. Oracle will offer third party integration and backup support for all kinds of distributed environments in which users will be able to run the remote servers and other interactive software on the native machines with back end server support on Windows Azure.

The partnership is likely to develop in future because this venture will “allow customers to leverage capabilities of both Oracle and Microsoft” as agreed by Mark Hurd, President of the top notch, Oracle. The partnership will allow java and windows developers to deploy the Windows azure services in the development phases of the applications as the need of the enterprise level cloud computing applications development is elevating with every passing day. Linux images, Oracle WebLogic Server and other Oracle services will be allowed by the Microsoft operating systems as per this partnership which will facilitate thousands of users around the world willing to use the cloud services and Oracle products.
