Firefox and Google chrome are the browsers to be, with thousands of plugins and many extensions, no other browser comes near them. Perhaps the extensions and plugins are the reason for their success. Admittedly Google chrome takes the lead in the most widely used web browser, Firefox isn't far behind, thanks to its constant update schedule and great support; Firefox brought a new extension with its latest update, Social media connectivity, so you won’t have to log into your Facebook account every time you want to chat with a friend. Firefox suggests that these features should be available at only a few clicks, and thus the plugin which enables Firefox to communicate with your Facebook account and display the message bar and notifications right along the navigation pane.

Although the options is turned OFF by default, you can follow rather simple steps to activate this option. Facebook itself has created a dedicated Firefox Messenger web page that provides all the information and the procedure to activate it. Users only need to navigate to that dedicated page and simple turn the option ON.

Now, this would activate the features Firefox intended for you to use, but what if you want more power? Of course you can tweak it, just follow the steps given below:

Step 1: Updated Firefox to the latest version

Step 2: Select the address bar and type about:config.

Step 3: “This might void your warranty” message will pop up, you know what to do.

Step 4: Select the line with tag social.enabled and change the Boolean value from flase to true

Step 5: A facebook panel will pop up, giving you access to all the news feed.

That is pretty much it and not hard at all, was it? Although the feature is great, but it could be distracting when you are at work.
